Museum musings – the black suits

When I arrived at work this morning the parking lot was unusually full, and stepping out of the elevator I saw the place swarming with men in black suits. That’s how I found out that today the Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governor of California were hosting a luncheon at the museum in honour of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.

According to Angela Merkel’s Home page the guest list included business leaders, scientists, and actors (Nicole Kidman, Geena Davis and Bruce Willis), entertainment executives including German film producers, scriptwriters and directors.

I worked the Children’s Store.  No glitterati came down there. The men in black suits kept them all away.
