Wondering -Will the Special Election on April 13th = education reform?

We’re having a Special Primary Election here next Tuesday, April 13, 2010. The ballot reads: 43rd State Assembly District, Special Primary Election, County of Los Angeles, and there are four names on it. So far I’ve lost count of the phone calls advising us who to vote for, and who not to vote for, and we’ve received FORTY-FOUR individual pieces of mail:

  • 1 on Propostion 16
  • 2 from a candidate identified as a Republican on the ballot, but who claims to be an Independent.
  • at least one letter from our local Teacher’s Association
  • and the remaining pieces of mail are from two candidates who are trading insults, and allegations about each other.  Both claim to be endorsed by the Democratic Party, both claim they’ll “shake-up Sacramento“, both claim to be the person who will improve our educational system, and who will “make our schools work”.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t feel like voting…

Education reform is urgently needed. Watch John Stossel’s show on 20/20, “Stupid in America: How we cheat our kids“?

One Response to Wondering -Will the Special Election on April 13th = education reform?

  1. Mahalia says:

hmmm… i wonder what would make people vote. less confusion? more sense that their vote counts, in a tangible way? do tell us the outcome.

I'd be delighted if you left me a comment
